Five questions to ask before choosing enrichment management software
Most schools focus on the wrong things in a demo. Here is what to ask.
The enrichment software market has grown quickly over the past two years — and not every platform for it was built for secondary schools, or for the compliance challenge Ofsted is now putting in front of you.
Before you commit to a demo, or sign anything, there are five questions worth asking. They are not complicated, and a decent platform will answer all of them without flinching. But if a vendor cannot answer them, you will know.
The five questions cover:
- Whether the platform can generate the specific compliance reports Ofsted expects — not just attendance lists, but equity of access by pupil premium status, SEND, FSM, and EAL.
- Whether it connects to your MIS, or whether someone will be maintaining two databases.
- How much extra work it creates for the teachers actually running clubs.
- Whether it maps activities to the five Ofsted Enrichment Benchmarks.
- What implementation actually looks like – and what support you get six months in, not just week one
