Enrichment Icons Competition – Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to the Avalon Achieve® Enrichment Icons Competition (the Competition).

The Competition is operated by Avalon IT Developments Limited of 3 Bramble Close, Ash, Surrey GU12 6NY (Avalon, we, us or our).

By entering the Competition, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you are under 18, you should read these Terms and Conditions with a parent or guardian before entering.

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before submitting an entry.

Eligibility

• The Competition is only open to students attending a school that uses Avalon Achieve on the closing date.
• Entries must be submitted before the closing date and time stated on the Competition webpage.
• Late, incomplete or corrupted entries may not be accepted.

Entrants under 18

• If you are under 18, you must have the permission of your parent or guardian to enter the Competition and agree to these Terms and Conditions. By entering the Competition, you confirm that you have obtained that permission.
• Avalon may ask for confirmation from a parent or guardian before awarding a prize.

How to enter

• Designs can be produced using any medium.
• Take a photo of your designs – making it clear which icon belongs to each category.
• Fill out the entry form on the competition page.
• Attach photos / outputs of your design to the submission form.
• We can only accept entries made online using the form provided. Please do not send designs in the post – we cannot guarantee their return if you do so.

Judging and Winners

• Winning entries will be selected by Avalon based on creativity, originality and suitability for the Competition theme.
• The judges’ decision is final.
• Winners will be contacted using the email address provided with their entry.
• If a winner cannot be contacted, does not respond within a reasonable time, or is unable to meet the requirements of these Terms and Conditions, Avalon reserves the right to select an alternative winner.

Prizes

• No cash alternative is available for any prize unless Avalon decides otherwise.
• Prizes are non-transferable and may not be sold, exchanged or substituted.
• Avalon reserves the right to replace a prize with another prize of equal or greater value if circumstances beyond its control make this necessary.

Your Entry and Intellectual Property

• Your entry must be your own original work and must not copy anyone else’s work or rights.
• By entering the Competition, you grant Avalon a non-exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, display and share your entry for the purposes of running and promoting the Competition.
• If your entry wins, you grant Avalon anon-exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free licence (with the right to sublicense) to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, share and promote your entry in any media and for any purpose in connection with Avalon Achieve and Avalon’s products, services and activities. This includes making reasonable changes to the entry, such as editing, redrawing, reformatting or adapting it for different uses.
• If requested, winners (and, if under 18, their parent or guardian) must sign any documents reasonably needed to confirm these rights. If they do not, Avalon may withdraw the prize and select another winner.
• For the avoidance of doubt, no school, academy trust or other educational institution acquires any rights in any entry by virtue of the entrant’s attendance at that school or the school’s participation in the Competition.

Disqualification

• Avalon may disqualify any entry that it reasonably believes breaches these Terms and Conditions, is not the entrant’s original work, infringes another person’s rights or is otherwise unsuitable for the Competition.
• If such circumstances are discovered after a winner has been selected, Avalon may withdraw the prize and select an alternative winner.

Publicity

• By entering the Competition, entrants agree that Avalon may publish their first name, school name, entry and winning status in connection with the Competition.
• If an entrant is under 18, Avalon may require confirmation from a parent or guardian before doing so.

Data Protection

• Personal information submitted as part of the Competition will be used only for administering the Competition, contacting entrants and promoting winning entries in accordance with these Terms and Conditions and Avalon’s privacy policy which is available here.

Changes to the Competition

• Avalon reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions, suspend, cancel or modify the Competition where it is reasonably necessary to do so, including where circumstances arise outside its reasonable control.

Liability

• Avalon accepts no responsibility for entries which are lost, delayed, incomplete, corrupted or not successfully submitted for reasons outside its reasonable control.
• Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
